RSVP nowSince the dawn of time, we’ve been trying to understand what it means to love and be loved. The ancients named its types, and the moderns defined its languages. Artists in every age have given color to the feeling, carved stone in the grips of its devotion, scribbled sonnets across tear-stained pages, and built towers in its honor. Start any playlist and you’ll hear someone who’s fallen in or out of it.
Love is a shape-shifter, but we know it when we feel it. The instant spark of a hot date, or the quiet kindness of a hot meal. It spurs us into battle, rounds our rough edges, and scoops us from the ashes. However it presents in our lives, love always leaves us with a tale to tell.
This month, the EEC is embracing stories of love and love of stories. Our guest hosts will take us on a tour of ardor and ice, service and sacrifice, friendship and forgiveness — from whoa to woe, steamy to stoic, and everything in between.
We’re also thrilled to celebrate our shared passion with Everand’s first State of Reading Report: a close look at the incredible role stories play in our lives. Connect with readers like you and add your voice to the convo on our socials.
Love is in the air, so take a deep breath.

"The books we’re reading in August have a common thread. They’re easy to pick up and
they’re hard to put down. I think this type of bingeable book is perfect for the summer.
Maybe you’re at the beach for a weekend and you want to start and finish a book while you’re there. Maybe you’re on a long flight sitting in a tiny, overpriced coach seat and you need to dissociate for a few hours. There’s nothing worse than lugging a book around all summer in the heat and humidity and never even opening it." -Liz

I’ve read a ton of different books from all over the genre spectrum and I’ve mainly given myself a lot of grace when it comes to what/how much I’ve been reading this summer. With that in mind, my vibe is low pressure, read what you want but also if you change your mind that’s more than okay." -Christine
